Conversation with High Ticket Coach Gerhard Grove
From 40kg Weight Loss to 1,000+ Transformations:
Gerard’s Journey as a Fitness Creator

Gerard recently returned to Dubai after time in South Africa, and it’s clear he feels at home. For him, Dubai represents growth, inspiration, and proximity to people who push him forward.
“If you’re around five millionaires, you’ll become the sixth. If you’re around five positive people, you’ll become the sixth. Spend time with winners and you become one.”
That mindset has shaped not only where Gerard lives, but how he’s built his business.
The Personal Transformation That Started It All
Gerard spent 21 years overweight before losing nearly 40 kilograms. That physical transformation fundamentally changed his confidence and identity.
Growing up overweight meant constant low-level ridicule and a lack of self-belief. The turning point came after a breakup, which forced a moment of reflection. Instead of staying stuck, Gerard committed fully to change.
Through that journey, he learned something important: results do not require extremes.
“You can do less and achieve more. You don’t need to train two hours a day or eat only chicken and broccoli. That’s not balance. That’s restriction.”
Everything Gerard teaches today comes directly from what worked for him.
From Motocross to the Gym
Before fitness, Gerard raced motocross professionally in South Africa. A serious arm injury ended that chapter and left him searching for a new outlet.
That search led him to the gym. Progress came quickly, confidence followed, and for the first time, Gerard experienced what it felt like to feel proud of his body.
Compliments, confidence, and momentum created a healthy obsession with improvement. That internal shift planted the seed for what would come next.
COVID and the Birth of a Coaching Business
Originally, Gerard planned to work in his father’s business. Fitness was personal, not professional.
Then COVID hit.
Friends began asking for workouts, advice, and help staying in shape at home. At first, Gerard shared simple plans without expectation.
“I thought maybe I could make an extra $100 or $200. Nothing serious.”
The demand grew fast. Before long, he was working with 30 to 40 clients.
By the end of 2020, Gerard officially became an online fitness coach. By mid-2021, it was clear this was no side hustle.
“I’m not a follower. I’m a leader. Why work for someone else when I can work for myself?”
Building a Brand Through Authenticity
Today, Gerard has around 20,000 followers and more than 1,000 documented transformations. That success didn’t come from chasing trends.
“People don’t buy into programs. They buy into people.”
His content strategy evolved from posting whatever looked good to posting with intention. Every post tells a story. Every image has context.
“If you think of yourself as the main character in a movie, what story are you putting out there?”
Authenticity became the foundation. Gerard stopped hiding, stopped overthinking, and started showing up consistently.
Content Strategy and Consistency
Gerard posts daily and treats content creation as a professional discipline, not an afterthought.
- Reels daily
- Carousels one to two times per week
- Stories three to four times per day
Stories show real life: training, food, balance, work, wins, and struggles. They are the behind-the-scenes of the brand.
“I show people I eat burgers and still stay in shape. That’s balance.”
Content is planned weekly with a team, reviewed regularly, and adjusted based on performance.
The Power of a Team
Gerard credits much of his growth to building a team early.
“You can only grow so far alone.”
He works with a videographer, editor, and appointment setter. His role is clear: coach, lead, and show up.
“If you’re the coach, your job is to coach. Not to do everything else.”
That structure allows him to scale without burning out.
Turning Attention Into Conversations
Attention creates awareness, but conversations create clients.
Gerard’s strategy moves followers into DMs through polls, questions, and call-to-actions. Engagement signals interest. Every inquiry goes through a consultation call.
“There is no shortcut. Every person gets a call.”
Offer Structure: High Ticket, Mid Ticket, Low Ticket
Gerard runs three core offers:
VIP High Ticket
Daily contact, weekly program updates, hands-on accountability. This is the highest-touch offer.
Mid Ticket (Coach-Led)
The same structure, delivered by a trained coach under Gerard.
Low Ticket (Self-Accountability)
Access to the app, structured plans, monthly check-ins. Affordable and flexible.
Low ticket clients receive the roadmap. High ticket clients receive daily accountability.
“Some people need someone holding their hand. I’m that person.”
Qualification Over Automation
No one buys without a conversation. Leads are segmented after a consultation call, not before.
If someone has the discipline and experience, they’re placed into low ticket. If they need structure, pressure, and daily accountability, they go high ticket.
Accountability is the real differentiator.
“Most people don’t fail because the plan doesn’t work. They fail because no one is holding them accountable.”
Client Experience and Retention
Once clients join, the experience is immediate and personal.
They receive:
- Direct WhatsApp contact
- Customized programming
- Daily motivation and check-ins
- Weekly progress reviews
- Community support inside the platform
Starting the day with a message from a coach changes mindset. That consistency builds momentum.
Community as a Growth Lever
Community plays a growing role, especially for low-ticket clients.
Clients motivate each other, meet up independently, and form real-world connections. That sense of belonging increases retention and results.
“That’s the power of community. People meeting because of something we built.”
Why a Branded Platform Matters
Gerard believes clients should feel the brand everywhere, not just on social media.
His platform reflects his values: balance, flexibility, real life.
Features like dine-out options, image scanning, barcode scanning, and recipe libraries allow clients to live normally while staying on track.
“If it’s complicated, people won’t do it. It has to be easy.”
Scaling With MacroActive
MacroActive enables Gerard to scale without sacrificing quality.
Automation removes friction. Systems replace manual work. Community multiplies impact.
“It gives me the power to help thousands of people at the same time.”
Quickfire Beliefs
- Organic before ads, then ads for scale
- Content and coaching must coexist
- Creator over influencer
- Manual DMs over automation
- High ticket for deeper impact
- One-off commitments build stronger buy-in
- Own your business over brand dependency
- Instagram over TikTok
- Coffee over pre-workout
- Impact over income
“Income is short-term. Impact lasts decades.”
The Future Vision
Gerard’s goal is scale through accessibility.
High ticket will remain, but low ticket will grow significantly. The mission is clear: help more people, in more countries, with more impact.
“If I can help thousands of people change their lives, that’s success.”
